The San Antonio River Foundation has hosted the annual Rivertini Pour Off for the past eight years, and they are gearing up for the ninth to be held on Thursday,  March 23rd. The event, will take place at the Wyndham Garden Riverwalk on the museum reach, and it is an exciting cocktail throw down featuring 20 of the best bartenders in San Antonio.  Mixologists enter the competition with their own signature cocktails in hopes of winning up to $1000 worth of prizes. The titles are awarded to  1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as a people’s choice. The placed winners will be selected by representatives of the United States Bartender’s Guild (USBG) while the people’s choice will be selected by those attending the Rivertini Pour Off.

Tickets to the event cost $75 and include cocktails from all the competing bartenders as well as complimentary bites from Bourbon Seafood and Kitchen. The VIP tickets cost $125 dollars, and includes bites from Hawx Burgers,  Grayze‘s winning cocktail from 2016,  complimentary parking at the Pearl and an exclusive river taxi ride to the event.

Proceeds from the Rivertini Pour Off go to assist  San Antonio River Foundation (SARF). The foundation, created in 2003, provides amenities along the river that are not funded by public money. SARF is responsible for many of the recent  installations such as F.I.S.H. by the San Antonio Museum of Art, and the Once and Future River piece by the Missions Walk. Events like Rivertini help to fund these projects and more that are dedicated to preserving the history and culture surrounding the San Antonio River Walk.

The list of confirmed participants comes out  in March and will be chosen by the San Antonio chapter staff of the USBG using a blind submission of cocktail recipes.
